NF NUCLEAR FUELS

We manufacture since 1982 Fuel Bundles for PWR, PHWR and for Material Test Reactors as plate type arrangements. From NU, SEU 0.85%, EU from 1.8 to 3.1% and up to 20% enrichment. We also manufacture our own production equipment to accomplish client requirements and also Reactivity Control Rods (pellets and slugs) to produce Co60 Gamma sources and also made of Hafnium.

Research Reactors

NUCLEAR FUELS FOR RESEACH REACTORS - MTR

MTR nuclear fuels are usually manufactured as plates-type and EU up to 20%. CONUAR also manufactures special fuel rods, tailor-made for research reactors.

MTRs are also used for producing medicinal radioisotopes:

CONUAR have been manufacturing CANDU Control Rods since more than 30 years, those Rods are assembled with Cobalt pellets or slugs depending on Rod type. Those Rods, after to be irradiated within Reactor, becomes as Cobalt-60, then processed in hot-cells obtaining Cobalt-60 Sources (Gamma Sources) for industrial or medicinal applications.
